chances
I'm grateful for the neverending opportunities that life presents to be the sort of person I want to be. Though I fail regularly, I get another chance, and another, and another. I'm grateful, too, for the moments when I get a glimpse of the similar efforts that other people are making. It makes me feel like it's just... human.

basics
I am grateful for the general comfort of my life... a warm bed, plentiful food. I need for nothing.

health
Today I am grateful for my health, such as it is. Slipped disc, the beginning of a cold, ingrown toenail, sore ankle.. whatever! I am walking around, I rode my bike today and worked and went to dance rehearsal. It could be so much worse, so I'm grateful for all the things that work fine and hopeful that the things that don't will make me a smarter mover.

muse map walk
I'm so grateful to my muse map walk peeps (we get together and talk art and dance, we try things out, we talk some more). Tonight we talked about honesty and realness in art and made pieces out of lies. The results were surprising and inspiring. It really woke up my curiosity and excitement about making performance pieces. I'm lucky to get to hang out with such a talented and creative group.

time, tb
I'm grateful to have the day off today to be luxuriously wasted or to catch up on chores. Maybe a bit of both.
And I'm grateful for TB, who calls me out with love.

love everywhere
Jonee's response to my last post re-inspired me to start again. I'll make a habit of this yet.
I usually think of this as a place to remind myself to be grateful for small, everyday things in my life. Mundane moments of grace. But sometimes something big and obvious comes along... I'm so grateful for the experience of creating and performing Love Everywhere. I loved walking down the steps of city hall, playing the viola, and taking in beautiful surroundings and all of the people gathered to see the performance. I loved the applause that broke out when Jen and I kissed. I loved looking up at Jessie speaking vows from a balcony with audience members standing right beside him. I loved dancing a raucous klezmer dance with everyone. I loved being part of a service at Glide. I loved the joy and kindness and love radiating from all of the performers involved, and the smiles and tears of the audience. Stuff like this doesn't come along every day, but it is in some way a channeling and magnification of love and joy that are a part of the every day world. Now it's just a matter of remembering that...

new year
The beginning of a new year seems like a good time to start this up again. Practicing gratitude is once again one of my intentions for this year (that's intentions, not resolutions, mind you).
So... I am grateful for the time I got to spend up at Green Gulch. It was meditative, educational, social, beautiful, restorative, thought-provoking, and inspiring.
